Ready for Anything

6 years ago I went to a fitness convention and was completely affected by the very last speaker of the event.  His name is Jay Blahnik and his speech encompassed the word Extraordinary. As you entered the amphitheater, you were given a questions sheet with 3 things on it...and a wrist band.  I remember, probably for one of the very few times in my life during a lecture, feeling completely present.  The 4 days of fitness training and education were done and I was in the middle of a major life adjustment.  The 3 questions are buried somewhere in my files, but the wrist band (dead broken and useless) is still around to remind me of that week and what...

The Big Loss.......

My wife just walked in from her weekly Pickleball clinic at Bobby Riggs with legendary coach and champion Chris Miller.  She always brings home some story that ties us more into the pickleball world. A few months ago I was asked to fill in for my friend Peter who plays with a regular group of 12 on the weekends.  I have witness them play and how incredibly organized they are... I think it really contributes to the fun. One of the men there is MARK.  Mark was a couch potato for many years.  A self proclaimed Couch Potato and overall grumpy guy...(maybe that was his wife who shared that.). Mark has been playing Pickleball for a number of years now...

Belief

How do you get people to believe you? Building trust is certainly one of the hardest things to do in life... unless you are completely trustworthy.  I can imagine who might come off as that very person, business, or product... but how did they get there is really the aim of the question. I was visiting a cousin in Florida when I was 19.  Sitting by the pool, I needed to use the restroom, but was distracted on my way back.  I heard someone hitting tennis balls all by themselves... along with the obvious sounds of frustration.  I took the time to peek into the court and witness something I believed I could fix.  The very fit woman, asked a...

All In...

There is nothing quite like an addiction.  Whether it's to drugs, video games, sex... the list is endless... What about an addiction to FUN? Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the USA and probably around the world.  People are attracted to the game because anyone can play... and I mean anyone.  First known as an old person game.  The senior community probably saw an extended life expectancy from villages that had courts.  I am betting they had a few ankle and shoulder injuries too... just can't keep them off the court. Now the sport has taken on a whole new level of competition.  Entertaining as it is to watch the good players play... its the moment you connect with...

The original innovator of Masculinity....Dreamers

Wow.  Where does inspiration come from?  Everywhere and anywhere, you only need to be paying attention. In 1953 one of the single greatest movements was created.  It was created because someone was bored and wanted more out of life.  He was paying attention to so many others around him and observing that they all sought a change.  The change was anything but slight.  It was risky, monumental, controversial, and above all...necessary.  This innovator created something he wanted.  He worked hard and sought "perfection" for the launch of the mens product that would change lives forever.  Shortly after his launch, he would get the answer he was looking for...YES.  They wanted the same thing he did.  Hugh Hefner launched PLAYBOY magazine...
